In the mid-1980s, the elderly Gravlee sisters receive a visitor from New York City who comes to Alabama to deliver the ashes of their nephew, Williamson. Forced to confront the reality of Williamson’s homosexuality and the illness that claimed his life, the sisters struggle to deal with the loss of their family’s last male heir.
