Martha is an avid knitter, has crocheted, done crewelwork, smocking, cross stitching and many other hand needlework techniques. She published an article in TD&T entitled “Chain Mail Techniques from the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Professional credits include the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Martha recently received the W. H. Plemmons Leadership Medallion honoring those Appalachian State University members who exceed their peers in providing leadership that enriches the quality of student life and advances the education of students.
